The Summertime Polar Bear 1 Kg Gold Coin was minted in 2016 as the first commemorative coin for Montreal's 375th anniversary celebrations. The design commemorates the 375th anniversary of Montreal as an independent city.
Summertime Polar Bear 1 Kg Gold Coin is the 2nd release of coins in the 2018 Olympic year.
It was designed by noted coin designer Jeff Rougvie who has previously designed the 2012 Olympic Coins as well as the 2013 & 2014 Olympic Rings.
It comes in an extremely rare shield struck style and contains 10.73 grams of .9999 fine gold. The coin is almost identical to the 2018 U.S.
Olympic Gold Medal piece.
Summertime Polar Bear 1 Kg Gold Coin is a 2017 1 Kg Proof Gold Coin produced by the Royal Canadian Mint and released in conjunction with the National Day of Happiness. The coin was first launched on 20 March 2017 and is available exclusively at the Royal Canadian Mint's boutiques and select
